Week 35 - Importance of Fairy Tales, Music, Jokes and Folk Tales by Eva Pérez

Eva Pérez Abril Importance of Fairy Tales, Music, Jokes and Folk Tales   On the first day of class, during the introductory lecture, I realised how important is taking this course as part of my degree as a teacher.   Storytelling is attractive for children and an essential tool in education. Stories also can help to transmit a wide range of values. Moreover, stories help children to experience emotions. Finally, fairy tales are part of the culture which is very important for the knowledge of people.    Next day, we had a fun music class in which we learned lots of things. I realised that music makes us feel many emotions and it can warn us about situations that are happening inside a story. I also learned lots of song that I had never listened to. On the other hand, we learned how to play a typical African instrument which is very interesting to use in storytelling.    In class with Eivind we reflected about jokes and the main question was if jokes can tell...

Sometimes, they have the same meaning as they used to have in their origin, and many times, at the same time that society evolves, the history or the perspective from which the myth is understood in particular, evolves at the same time, changing therefore, its meaning. That is why thanks to these ancient stories we can learn lot of values. M...

Hello everybody! We are Group 1 formed by Eva, Ainhoa, Petra and Paul. In this blog, we are going to talk about our experience in this course called "Fairytales and Creativity".  AINHOA MERINO To start with, I need to talk about my first impression of the course, the first day. We know that, as future teachers, storytelling is very important because thanks to this we can transmit a lot of things such as: social and cultural skills, knowledge, information... That's why this course seems to us very necessary and interesting for our future, which is to be teachers. If I talk about music , we all know that it is a very powerful tool in the world of storytelling. Because, thanks to the music itself we can tell many stories, experience emotions, transmit them... at the same time that we give or take away intensity when telling a story if we use this important tool. If I think back I remember that music has been of great importance since my childhood, or so I think. Always, or ...
