My favorite story

During our trip to Grønland I presented a story by the fire. The story is based on the story 'de vluchteling' (the refugee) by Dutch author J.Sharpe (Joris). The story starts off with a girl running away from city guards. She runs for a while and manages to hide in an alley. After that she says to herself that she has to go back home to see someone special.  At that point the story cuts to a flashback of when she was saved by this man, the prince. She was in a bar and got bothered by one of the customers there. The prince and two of his guards come in at that time. The guards arrest the man and the prince brings the girl home. At this point the story cuts back to the present. The girl comes home. She calls out for the prince, but no response. She does it again. Still no response, but she can see him sitting in the chair. So she walks up to him and then mockingly says 'I forgot I had you gagged' before removing the gag. The prince gets angry with the girl and tells how ...

Eva Pérez Abril A TASTE OF THE MOON – MICHAEL GREJNIEC I have chosen the story A taste of the moon because it reminds me a lot of my mother. She is an English teacher in a school in my town and she used to tell this story to her students. On the other hand, it is a story that you can get a lot out of. Nowadays, I use it in my private English classes with the little ones to teach the vocabulary of animals. It is also a story that transmits values such as teamwork and respect for others. I have tried to use one of the resources we have learned during the course Fairytales and Creativity - Nordic Chilhood. I think it is an attractive way to tell a story and to keep the interest of the audience.  Here is the link to the video of my favourite tale:  Once upon a time, there was a group of animals that wanted to find out what the taste of the moon was.   At night, when the moon was in the sky, they reached up and tried to catch it stretching their necks, legs, and arms.  Bu...

Eva Pérez Abril   ASKELADDEN KINDERGARTEN – TUESDAY, 2 ND  NOVEMBER On Tuesday we went to visit a kindergarten in Oslo whose educational plan is based on storytelling. "Askeladden" is an old kindergarten with a long tradition and whose education is based and emphasizes Norwegian culture.  The kindergarten has three equally divided groups with children of different ages, ranging from 1 to 6 years old. This is because this mix is beneficial for the children as they learn from each other. The older ones take responsibility, and the younger ones have good opportunities for development. This kindergarten is characterized by the mutual care of the children. One of the teachers told us that the combination of ages makes it possible to build friendships over time.  Regarding the methodology of this kindergarten, by stories, music, drama and art, it is intended to give the children a good basis for continuing to learn about life. They use literature as a guide in the children...
